SSC JE Junior Engineer Exam Pattern-SSC ( Staff Selection Commission ) Board conduct every year JE Junior Engineer Exam Only for graduated students and students who are appearing in there final year university exams at the time of notification out from SSC, Staff Selection Commission hold an open competitive Examination for recruitment of Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Quantity
Surveying & Contracts) for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India. The posts are Group „B‟ (Non-Gazetted), in Level-6 (Rs 35400- 112400/-) of pay matrix of 7th Central Pay Commission.
SSC JE Exam Pattern
The Examination will consist of two Papers i.e. Paper-I (Computer Based Examination) and Paper-II (Descriptive Type).
Paper-1
Paper-1 conducted to shortlisted students for second paper, in which 200 questions are asked and time period is 2Hr ( 120 Minutes ).

Paper-2
Candidates who were passed the tier-1 are invited for the second, this tier is conduct in descriptive(pen and paper mode).
Part-A General Engineering (Civil & Structural) or Part-B General Engineering (Electrical) or Part-C General Engineering (Mechanical) | 300 Marks | 2 Hours (2 hours and 40 minutes for the candidates who are eligible for scribe as per Para9.1 and 9.2) |
The candidates will be required to attempt the General Engineering part (i.e. Part-A, PartB or Part-C) in Paper-I and Paper-II, which has been selected by them, on the basis of their educational qualification, in the online application form. In other words, the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil), Junior Engineer (Quantity Surveying & Contracts) are required to attempt Part-A (Civil & Structural) of Paper-I and Paper-II and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) are required to attempt Part-B (Electrical) and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Mechanical) are required to attempt Part-C (Mechanical) of Paper-I and Paper-II failing which their candidature will be rejected.
Important Points
The Paper-I will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. Thequestions will be set both in English & Hindi.
There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
The Paper-II will have to be written either in Hindi or in English. Part paper written in Hindi and part in English will be awarded zero marks.
